With the various culture that are being followed Indian each one have there own New Year Day. In Maharashtrians, Gudi Padwa also known as Kalash Sthapana is Their New Year Day. This day is celebrated every year on the first day of Chaitra Month of the Hindu calendar (Luni-Solar calendar).

Generally bright color cloth is tied to the tip of a bamboo with gathi, neem leaves, a twig of mango leaves and a garland of flowers is tied over it and a brass or a silver vessel placed in the inverted position over it.
